How many books did I read last year?

After going through all the books I read in 2018 to find my favorites, I got curious about how many I actually read…

  1. High Achiever by Tiffany Jenkins (428 pages)
  2. The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen (352 pages)
  3. The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn (448 pages)
  4. For the Love by Jen Hatmaker (224 pages)
  5. Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough (320 pages)
  6. The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor (288 pages)
  7. The Breakdown by B.A. Paris (352 pages)
  8. The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah (448 pages)
  9. The Broken Girls by Simone St. James (336 pages)
  10. Not That I Could Tell by Jessica Strawser (326 pages)
  11. Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell (384 pages)
  12. Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris (352 pages)
  13. The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molloy (336 pages)
  14. The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (608 pages)
  15. The Outsider by Stephen King (576 pages)
  16. Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris (304 pages)
  17. Ghosted by Rosie Walsh (352 pages)
  18. Cross Her Heart by Sarah Pinborough (352 pages)
  19. It by Stephen King (620/1,153 pages)
  20. An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen (384 pages)
  21. Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty (464 pages)

I honestly could have read a lot more than that. I really got stuck on It. For over a month, I tried to like it and make myself want to read it, but it was so not for me (like how many times I said IT). I got over halfway, before I decided to just quit it and read another book. And the only other book on this list that I did not like was The Chalk Man. All the rest were even good or great!

I had a few repeat authors, as you can see. And apparently 352 pages is a common length for my books of choice. Total, I read 8,254 pages last year. That sounds like so much, but without any other year to benchmark it, it’s hard to tell. So let’s see if I can beat it in 2019…

A lot of the books are loaned out to friends, but here’s the 13 I have at home still.
